SMITH BRIDGE
PRESERVE

Purchased in October, 2021, Smith Bridge is the first of three former Chadbourne Tree Farm parcels the Trust has conserved in western Maine. The
494-acre forest protects 185-acres of wetlands and 4-miles of frontage on the Little Androscoggin River. Given the extent of wetlands and other natural resources to be protected, the bulk of the land will be managed for the health of the forest and wildlife, not for timber revenue. The recreational trails are former logging roads, including a discontinued public road. There are recognized snowmobile trails through the tract of land which are maintained by the Rock-o-Dundee Snowmobile Club. Permitted uses are hiking,
dog-walking, backcountry skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, skiing, horseback riding, hunting, and nature observations.
